We celebrated Daniel's birthday early this year with a small Mexican dinner at our apartment.

We started out with chips, salsas, and guacamole- and of course, margaritas.

We feasted on carnitas.

And after dinner, there was funfetti cake and ice cream. I don't think I've had funfetti cake since Daniel's last birthday and I'd forgotten how unbelievably sweet it is- the vanilla ice cream tasted almost tart by comparison.
