People are not lying when they say that the first year of law school is busy. It's been an adjustment to get used to the rhythms of the classroom again and the strangeness of living on a college campus after several years living in cities, but halfway through my fourth week, I'm happy to be here.

I'll try to stop in here more often- though my life mostly consists of large coffees, large textbooks, and the walk between my dorm and the law school/library at the moment- with updates. It's fall, my favorite time of year, and I want to make sure I don't miss it.

public bikes

Right before I left San Francisco, I got a bicycle.

After asking around a little, I found myself online looking at Public Bikes. It was pretty much love at first sight- the bikes are just so pretty.

Now that I'm down in Palo Alto, I ride my bike a couple of times a week, sometimes to go grocery shopping, some times just to get out in the fresh air.

I couldn't love it more.

mack the knife

While I was busy moving into my dorm last week (wow that's weird to say...), Daniel was moving into a new place of his own up in Corte Madera.  It's a lovely little place with a fireplace and a deck that lets you peer out through redwood trees to the water. I spent the better part of this weekend up there, running errands and helping Daniel settle in.

The cat pictured above it Mack. She sort of came with Daniel's new apartment and he's trying to figure out whether or not she'll be sticking around. It's strange- I've never spent any time around cats before and I'm still not 100% sure of my feelings about them- but at the same time, it is sort of nice to have something warm and furry sitting at your feet while you read a book on the couch.
