A few days ago, my friend Caitlin suggested we go hiking on Sunday. That's one of the things I love about living in San Francisco- you can drive across the Golden Gate Bridge and feel that you have wholly escaped the city. Sometimes you just need to get away, you know?
Anyway, we decided to go to Mount Tam.
More specifically, we decided to hike to the German Tourist Club, which is nestled in the park. It's a private club, but they're open to the public on some Sundays.
It all made me so grateful to be living in the bay area. A gorgeous Sunday, and the first of May.

It's completely charming- this Bavarian house tucked into the woods. My friend Kinzie brought us a picnic of cheeses and meats and fruit and nuts and we ate on the deck. We speculated on whether or not it would be possible for us to join the club as members so we could go all the time.
After lunch, we hiked around for a while. The day couldn't possibly have been more beautiful- it was hot and sunny and all of the spring flowers were in bloom.
