Hello and welcome.
My name is Lauren. I created this little space in order to post the occasional photograph and/or recipe - a sort of photo journal of my interests and activities, if you will.
In case you were wondering, I took the name of my blog from a line in Flaubert's Madame Bovary:
"La parole humaine est comme un chaudron fêlé où nous battons des mélodies a faire danser les ours, quand on voudrait attendrir les étoiles."
In other words,
"Human language is like a cracked kettle on which we beat out tunes for bears to dance to, when all the time we long to move the stars to pity."
